CCTV Camera installation at Friary House Surgery

As a result of recent criminal activities in local Plymouth surgeries and the risk to our staff as a result of a small minority of patients being offensive and abusive to them, it is our intention to install a very limited number of CCTV cameras in and around the surgery. These cameras will be recording, however there will only be limited access to these recordings by senior management within the surgery and only in the event of an incident occurring.

The images will not be shared unless for the purpose of criminal proceedings or actions against offending patients and will be deleted securely on a 30 day rolling cycle. Any images shared in these circumstances will be processed to remove the identity of those persons innocently within the footage. If there are any queries or questions please contact the surgery and speak with Steve Shelton who is the Data Protection Officer at the surgery Monday to Wednesday’s.
